New Product, New Markets

Quantec LLC, prior to a merger with leading environmental and energy consulting firm, The Cadmus Group, was an advanced analytics consulting firm, measuring and predicting consumer behavior and its impact on energy, financial and natural resources for the benefit of decision-makers in business and the public sector. Their clients continue to rely on their expertise in strategic planning, market research, forecasting, risk management and program evaluation.

A siloed approach to the marketplace prevented the company from fully leveraging their customer intelligence data as it applied to their deep expertise and knowledge of energy regulation and looming economic trends.

Deliverable(s):

We completed an inside-out audit of Quantec’s service delivery, business objectives and communications platforms. Quantec’s unique competitive advantage in economic forecasting and energy modeling, coupled with innovative data collection tools for customer behavior – positioned them well for an emerging low-carbon economy response mechanism. Quantec’s largest financial and institutional clients had begun to understand the financial risks posed by climate change regulation, and were looking for tools to help them first analyze, then respond to those risks.

Results:

Our process uncovered new service and market opportunities in which Quantec could provide clients with an energy framework in response to pending carbon legislation. Quantec’s new product demonstrated benefits of cutting energy use and greenhouse emissions to enhance the bottom line, create new business opportunities, while simultaneously greening up companies' reputations.
